This year’s Discover Europe Final Gala will take place in one of the most elegant and historically significant venues in Łódź – Biedermann’s Palace (Pałac Biederemanna in Polish). The upcoming event will bring together participants, organisers, partners, and guests. Surrounded by historic interiors and the unique atmosphere of the palace, attendees will have the opportunity not only to celebrate the best photos of the Discover Europe contest, but also to experience one of the city’s most remarkable architectural landmarks.

Located near the centre of Łódź, Biedermann’s Palace is considered one of the finest examples of the city’s historic residences. The building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century as the home of Alfred Biedermann, a representative of one of the industrial families that contributed to the rapid development of Łódź during the industrial revolution. During this period, Łódź transformed into one of the most important industrial centres in this part of Europe, attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and communities from many different cultural backgrounds.

The building itself impresses visitors from the very first moment. Its neo-Renaissance architecture, elegant façade, richly decorated interiors, and carefully preserved historical details create a truly unique atmosphere. Every room reflects the artistic and cultural heritage of the era in which the residence was created, making the palace not only a prestigious event venue, but also a place deeply connected with the identity and history of Łódź.

Today, Biedermann’s Palace belongs to the University of Łódź and serves as one of the university’s representative venues. Over the years, it has hosted numerous academic conferences, official ceremonies, cultural initiatives, and prestigious meetings, becoming an important part of the cultural and academic life of the city. The palace has welcomed events such as the Łódź Design Festival, Fotofestiwal, the Gala “Absolwent VIP”, “Łódzkie Colloquia Logiczne”, and the concert series “Muzyka u Biedermanna”, combining art, science, culture, and education within its historic interiors.

Hosting the Discover Europe Final Gala in such a meaningful location adds a unique artistic dimension to the event itself. The historic interiors of Biedermann’s Palace create the perfect setting for presenting the photography exhibition, where the displayed works will blend with the elegant architecture and atmosphere of the venue. The combination of historic halls, detailed interiors, and photographs capturing the beauty and diversity of Europe will create a space that encourages guests to not only celebrate, but also experience art and culture in an inspiring environment. The palace’s distinctive character will undoubtedly make this year’s exhibition and Gala even more memorable for all participants.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the University of Łódź for making Biedermann’s Palace available to us and for supporting the organisation of this year’s Discover Europe Final Gala. Their openness, hospitality, and willingness to cooperate have made it possible for the event to take place in such an inspiring and prestigious setting.

We are truly proud and grateful for the trust and support we have received and that this year’s Discover Europe Final Gala will take place in such a unique and prestigious venue. Cooperation with the University of Łódź and the opportunity to organise the exhibition in Biedermann’s Palace make this edition of the event even more special for us and all participants.
